So I thought I'd blog, in an effort to show some committment hehe.
I do NOT get the Adam & Eve story. Let me recap it, the way I hear it. God created angels, one being Lucifer. Lucifer, the right hand angel, worked closely with God, YET he somehow started to believe that he could overpower God, and convinced some other angels of this.
God also created humans, which He loved and sent His son to die for. However, when he defeated Lucifer, He didn't simply destroy the father of lies, He banished him to earth, where God's loved ones resided. Not just earth, but also allowed him in the garden.
And in this garden, God allowed Adam & Eve to consume of all trees, except for the one smack dab in the middle. I see two conflicts with this. One, why in the middle, and not outside of Eden. If you believed that it was a million times better if your kids/brother/whoever didn't eat rat poison, would you put it on the table or in the basement? Second, why even have this tree? Of course I've heard the explanation: "we'd be robots if God didn't give us a choice... free will.." But why couldn't our choices have been between apples and oranges? Why between apples and eternal damnation for generations after us?
Lastly, why are we all born with sin because of one couple's decision? Why is a newborn baby as guilty of sin as Ted Kaczynski? Why are we sinners before we even sin?
Gosh. That is pretty controversial. However, it's not controversy for the sake of controversy. I really just don't get it..
